"WATCHMEN" மாறுபட்ட சூப்பர் ஹீரோ படம்!

"Watchmen (2009)"

Zack snyder இயக்குனர் அவர்களின் படங்களில் ஒளிப்பதிவு மிக அற்புதமாக இருக்கும்! உதாரணமாக "300"ஐ சொல்லாம்! பின்னர் ஒரு நாள் அவரின் "Sucker punch" படத்தைப் பார்த்தேன், காட்சிகைளக் கண்டு அசந்து போனேன்! படம் அவ்வளவு நன்றாக இல்லாவிட்டாலும் ஸ்பெஷல் எஃபெக்ட்ஸ்காகவே அப்படத்தைக் காணலாம். நேற்று அவரின் மற்றொரு படைப்பான "Watchmen" படத்தைப் பார்த்தேன். அவருக்கே உரித்தான அந்த vfx, மற்றும் ஸ்லோ-மோ காட்சிகள் இந்தப் படத்திலும் நம் கண்கைளக் கவரும்! அவர் படத்தில் இசைக்கும் மிக முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பார். அதே போல் இப்படத்திலும் டைலர் பேட்ஸ் தன் திறமையை நிரூபித்துள்ளார்! படத்தின் கதை கூறப்படும் விதமும் அருமையாக இருக்கும். 3 மணி நேரம் போகிறதே தெரியாத அளவுக்கு நம்மை படத்தினுள் மூழ்கடிக்கும் படம் இது!

படத்தின் கதை என்னவென்றால் வழக்கமான பல சூப்பர் ஹீரோ படங்கைளப் போல் அணு ஆயத்தால் உலகு அழிவதை தவிர்ப்பதே! ஆனால் கைளமேக்ஸ் வழக்கத்திற்க்கு மாறாக இருக்கும்! ஏன்?? படமே சூப்பர் ஹீரே் வின் வழக்கத்திற்க்கு மாறாக தான் இருக்கும்! ஏனோ தெரியவில்லை இவர்கள் சூப்பர் மேன், பேட் மேன் போல் பிரபலமடையவில்லை. படத்தில் எனக்கு மிக பிடித்த கதாபாத்திரம் "Roarschach" என்னும் கதா பாத்திரம் ஆகும். அவனை பார்க்கும் போது இன்னொரு பேட் மேனைப் பார்த்த உணர்வு! படம் பார்த்தால் உங்களுக்கே புரியும். இது ஒரு புத்தகத்தைத் தழுவி எடுத்த படம் என நம் குழுவில் யாரோ சொல்லி கேள்விபட்ட ஞாபகம்! எனவே அப்புத்தகத்தைப் படித்துவிட்டு பார்த்தால் வேறு அனுபவமாக இருக்கும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையில் படத்தை அழிக்காமல் வைத்திருக்கிறேன். எனினும் மாறுபட்ட ஒரு சூப்பர் ஹீரோ படம் பார்க்க வேண்டுமானால் தாராளமாக இதை தேர்வு செய்யலாம்!!!

ADUVENTS FORTUNA JUVAT - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES..!!

In this evil struck world to deliver justice is not a easy job. Crime warlords stop us, threaten us and use their power and their ability to inject fear in our heart stop us from delivering justice to the right people. Most of the times it falls in the opposite hands. As a family man who has a loving wife and two children won't be able to stop this crisis situation. As there are more chances of risking their life. But as a symbol anyone can defend justice. The symbol should be delivered in the form of hope. The hope that a country or city can have so that they could defend themselves from any warming situation. People sometimes need something more than justice. 'will' is the need of the hour. The courage to stand against inglorious criminals. The will to fight for the truth and stand against the evil in the name of the truth.

When we fight against the evil most of the time we should be ready to sacrifice our souls. Sometimes we should sacrifice more than the souls, something which is eternal so that we could hoist the flag called hope in the disaster struck events which happens around us. If Hiroshima and Nagasaki were able to recover from one of the intolerable disasters that ever happened in the history. Then we are quite sure that any city could recover from the mercy-less killers with which it is filled with.

Just because a few people choose the wrong path,we have no right to antagonise a whole community. Just like how a whole religion cannot be blamed because of few pity terrorists. Our city where we live in is our domicile. We cant afford to give up or lose hope of our city at any cost. We even cannot allow a whole city to rip off its foundation inch by inch and destroy itself as a whole just because of the majority of crimes which happen around us. Crime can be stopped from provoking but hope cannot be done so. It blasts like a nuclear bomb no matter how long we control it.

Today my blog will be about Christopher Nolan's biopic 'The Dark Knight Rises'. This is the conclusion rather I could describe it as an epic conclusion to the Batman Trilogy. Eight years after the death of Harvey Dent, the Dent act helps to evade most of the criminals in the fear struck Gotham city. James Gordon was about to confess the truth many times but his conscience stops him in doing so. Batman has been away from the city for sometime. Bruce Wayne has prefers to be isolated from the society. Selina Kyle(Anne Hathaway) steals Bruce's finger prints and hands it to his business counter part John Daggett so that he could own Wayne enterprises. Later, we come to know that all these things were a part of a plan by Bane(Tom Hardy) which was projected perfectly by his men. Bane is a militant revolutionary originated and trained by the League of Shadows but later was excommunicated because Ra's Al Ghul only recognized evilness in his heart. His strike at the stock marked of Gotham paved way for the Batman to return after eight years. When Bruce Wayne was concentrating only for the goodness of the city Alfred revealed the truth that Rachel had preferred Harvey Dent over Wayne and Alfred was hiding the truth so long. This made Wayne dejected with disappointment and asked Alfred to leave. At the same time Wayne enterprises was at jeopardy and Bruce was at the verge of becoming a pauper. He decides to change over the nuclear reactor to Miranda Tate(Marion Cotillard). Selina agrees to make Batman fall in Bane's trap because Bane threatened to kill her. Bane after destroying Batman by several lusty blows then revealed he was about to complete Ra's Al Ghul's mission. Bane further imprisons him to a well like prison and asks him to watch his city die. The inmates informs Wayne that nobody has escaped the prison except the child. Bruce assumes the child to be Bane.

Bane with the help of Dr pavel has converted the nuclear reactor into nuclear bomb. He breaks the Gotham prison and sets the inmates free and starts the revolution and even keeps the police isolated at a underground tunnel. John Blake(Levitt) was the only one to escape from it. As Bane terrorizes Gotham and was about to blow up the city completely. Bruce with all his mental abilities and with his strength somehow escapes the prison and was about to return to save the Gotham city. Did he succeed in saving his city? or what was the sacrifice he did to save Gotham? forms the rest of the plot.

Performance wise Christian Bale was at his pioneer best much like how he performed in the first two installments. Bane was physically and mentally strong and was disturbing as the antagonist. John Blake was a treat to watch.

Christopher Nolan always known for his screen play has risen up high and delivered a punch and gave a right ending to the engaging trilogy. Hans Zimmer once again delivers his usual best with his timing back ground scores. Cinematography and Editing was the best among the trilogy.

One interest fact is that The Joker(Heath Ledger) was part of the original script but his sudden demise forced Christopher Nolan to remove him from the script.

The movie was both critically and commercially acclaimed making it the third highest grossing superhero movie ever.

MY RATING- 4.75/5.

WHY SO SERIOUS ? - THE DARK KNIGHT

When we go to circus on any auspicious occasion we tend to watch Joker with lot of interest than any other any other artist because it will be really fun to watch the clown, the reason is the clown attracts a lot of audiences with his hilarious voice. When we leave the circus its the joker's face that strikes us many times even after we leave the place. As I already mentioned in my previous blog life changes in a drastic way depending upon how we are brought up in our early ages. Good people and bad people are both made depending upon how we are brought up. A third category is newly created and I will name it as psychopaths. A psychopath is one who seriously doesn't have any motive, he just wants to do something because he wants to. He likes to swim in the pool of blood instead of water. Money won't be his motive at all. He just wants to see the world burn at any cost. To witness it he sheds a lot of effort to achieve the unthinkable and to land the most terrifying force in this world. Something the normal human being wouldn't even think off.

So what is the only way to stop these kinds of petrifying characters. The answer is simple! Take him to the ground, burn him into ashes so that he won't rise above again literally KILL HIM. But without killing him is there any way to stop him?. The answer is certainly NO. But only one person who could really do the impossible and could bring down a ferocious barbarian down to ground without killing him by peeling his skin inch by inch ,by controlling the necessity to kill him with all his sense can be only one and he is THE BATMAN.

I am going to reveal about the epic-award winning super hero movie 'The Dark Knight' today.This movie is a sequel to THE BATMAN BEGINS.. Most of us would be very fond of this movie because everybody would be having a DVD of it. The reason is it will be the pioneer among each and everyone's favorite movie list.

The joker is known for being funny and entertaining the crowd. But in this blog we gonna see a joker who wants to struck chord with the crowd by spreading fear and to blow up tall buildings, shake the Government with his dark thinking and also destroy the society day by day by reducing the faith among people each and every second not for the sake of money but for his own personal happiness. He couldn't be called as a joker but according him the destructive things which I mentioned above seems funny to him and there fore he considers himself as 'THE JOKER'(Heath Ledger)

The plot is so simple after The Batman's encounter with Ra's Al Ghul ( in the prequel Batman Begins ) the Gotham city is struck by a new psychopath killing machine named The joker.Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) after being elected as the new District attorney plans to eradicate the mugs in the Gotham city to the fullest and then with no one expectations The joker enters Gotham city by robbing a famous bank and his atrocities gets increased day by day on regular basis. The mob bosses holds a meeting with Lau, an accountant who has hidden their funds and moved to Hong Kong. The joker disturbs the meeting and orders them to kill Batman but the mobs refuses to his task and Gambol threatens joker. So The joker kills Gambol and takes control over the him mob. He threatens Gotham that each and every day people will die if Batman doesn't reveal his true identity But Dent as a twist in the plot reveals himself as Dent in order to safe guard Gotham. Joker when he was about to kill Dent is intervened by The Batman and decides to stop him. Whether Batman was success full in safeguarding Gotham before falling in to the hands of The Joker or did he fail?. What was the reason behind Harvey Dent turning into two-face and whether Bruce Wayne succeeded in his love life forms the rest of the plot.

Christian Bale as The Batman was his usual best. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent has done his role to perfection. The one character who outperformed Christian Bale and The Batman was Heath Ledger as The Joker. What a performer he is. As years pass by this movie would be remembered only for the character disguised by Heath Ledger more than The Batman. It would take at least three decades for us witness such a perfection in an antagonist role. He has undergone months of training so that he could underplay this role to mere perfection. Heath Ledger even spent six months alone in a hotel so that he could get the thinking of Joker and the way through which Joker communicates through his own mind. Indeed its an hard work. That's the reason why he was awarded the academy award for the best actor. It was unfortunate that he could not witness his name spellbound all over the world.

In the technical side Christopher Nolan will be the key reason behind why this movie would be spoken so proudly in the coming future. No one could match up his reputations in his film making skills. Someone who is so pioneer in it. Hans Zimmer once again proves why he is the king of back ground scores. His works collaborating with Christopher Nolan will be remembered always like the sea with waves. Such a sort of dedication was showed by them in the making of this epic movie.

Totally a movie which shouldn't be given a miss at all. If you miss it surely you would be missing something in life both literally and mentally.

P.S- A sure shot movie for all Batman fans and compulsory watch for all cinema buffs. On the whole this movie should be watched by mentally active human being in this planet.This movie had a Prequel and a Sequel ( to read about it click on it.. )

THE HARDENED VIGILANTE - BATMAN BEGINS

Everyone wants to be a super hero in this world. Super heroes are literally not born they are moulded into one. Most of us have a wonderful childhood. A childhood with sun rays beaming into our eyes hoping for a bright future, pleasant memories, photographs etc all leading us into the formation of an unadulterated pure human being in the near future. Since I am part of an atheist side someone who doesn't believe in fate nor someone who believes in super natural powers but a strong believer in destiny. Destiny where our life should lead into. So many children are born in good environment with lovable father and mother and someone are born orphans due to various circumstances. I don't call this as fate, but as destiny. Destiny wants us to make our own self stronger and better by learning from the outside world. These sorts of people are bound to be stronger than the normal spoon feeding child who normally depends too much on their parents. But there is another section in our society were children are moulded in to criminals because of their rough child hood. The agony they face at a very young age. The fear which strikes their eyes each and every day. These type of children who live with their family to certain extend and when they are estranged suddenly problems arises there. Baring they are rich or poor, each and every child needs someone to guide them and that someone would be mostly their parents. When a mother or father dies or both leave this world imagine what happens to that innocent heart which pumps so calmly. First the child becomes pathetic, then sorrow strikes then the most important of all the child decides to show frustration to the outside world. This is the point were our child hood gets ruined and our society gets damaged. I always believe that humans don't kill society. society always kills society.

Only few kids have the unfortunate fortune to see their parents get killed in front of their own blooming eyes. Every city have criminals flooded with. The criminals kill people just for the sake of money, they don't care about other people's responsibility. They only have the urge to satisfy themselves not to satisfy others leaving many roots in the need of water. These roots either die or grow with the help of water. What I am trying to imply is the dying roots are the violence struck children who turn in to hard mercy less culprits and the watered roots either grow in to vigilante or have a peaceful life.

Fear is the worst enemy one can have in their life. One should learn to overcome fear. One should have the strong will to fight the bitterness and overcome it with skillful acts. The real reason one who falls in their life is because at certain point we should learn to pick ourselves up. After all 'its not about who we are underneath, its about what we do to define ourselves'.

Today we are going to talk about one of the cult super hero movies ever made in the history of world cinema. A super hero generally provokes small children but this superhero sets an example how each and every soul in this world should lead their life. Superheroes always have a dark or rough childhood i.e they always have a bitter flashback to explain why they turn in to a superhero. But super hero's depends on the necessity kills some violent people depending on the needs but this person is a hardened vigilante someone who likes to clean the society with his intellectual and provoking ideas with a dark heart. Someone who has adapted darkness like the bat which is active only during the night. Yes I am talking about the evergreen vigilante cum superhero 'THE BATMAN'

Many movies were made based on this fictional character but Christopher Nolan's directorial work on Batman seems to be the best superhero movie made ever till date. Christopher Nolan the talented and pioneer director of our times wrote the script into a huge one and later filmed into three parts. BATMAN BEGINS(2005) is the first part of this epic trilogy.

The plot is this Bruce Wayne(Christian Bale) who has a high fear towards bats falls into a well were he is attacked by a swarm of bats and so he develops a fear towards bats and his father Thomas Wayne rescues him and utters these words 'why do we fall Bruce?'' ' so that we could pick ourselves up'. These golden words strikes him daily. After some days he witness his parents murdered in front of his own eyes outside opera house by a petty thief for the sake of money. He is struck deeply in his heart by his parents death and as a child he meets Commissioner Gordon(Gary Oldman) advice him to be strong and later Bruce was brought up by Wayne family's trustee Alfred Pennyworth(Michael Caine). As a grown up he decides to take revenge on the mug who killed his parents with a gun but his efforts goes in vain. After his child hood friend and District Attorney Rachel Dawes comes to know about this he slaps Bruce Wayne saying his father won't be happy about his act and tells him that the law cannot be taken by anyone in their own hands. After that he decides to meet Carmine Falcone in a night club. Falcone intimidates him saying that fear is the real power that one could have to dominate and rule others. Struck by his speech Wayne decides to travel around the world and learn the techniques of a criminal and he himself becomes a criminal. He is caught red handed one day for criminal activities and imprisoned to Bhutanese prison. Henri Ducard(Liam Neeson) offers him to teach the art of adopting to darkness and to join him as a member of league of shadows. After learning the way to overcome fears when he was about to league of shadows but then he realizes that the main motive of league of shadows is to destroy Gotham city. As Gotham city was beyond saying the only way to restore balance is to destroy Gotham but Bruce Wayne refuses to be an executioner and escapes from the prison some how killing Ra's al Ghul. Sooner or later Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham he takes charge over his family's company Wayne Enterprises. Bruce meets Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) who shows his various prototype technologies like tumbler and body suit. Taking these and with the prolonged training on splunking he builds a cave in his well confronts his fear towards bats and disguising himself as 'THE BATMAN'. As the Batman his first priority was empowering Gordon and to stop the drug dealing and providing enough evidence to Rachel helping her to arrest Falcone. Then he confronts Dr Crane(Cillian Murphy) and how he stops scarecrow and the forthcoming encounter he faces forms the rest of the plot.

Performance wise Christian Bale was at his psychological best. At some scenes you would really believe batman really existed. The way he overcomes his fear and how he adopted darkness as his ally is quite really amusing. Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon is so stylish and really unpredictable in the crime struck Gotham city. Catie Holmes as Rachel was perfect. Liam Neeson was so impressive in his dual characters as I wont reveal what are the characters are.

In the technical side Christopher Nolan is the ultimate best person to have on board. The way he handled the script is so amazing and amusing. His perfectly planned shots and dialogues needs a special mention. Hans Zimmer, this lad is on fire with a script like this he sets the screen on fire with his scintillating back ground score. Cinematography by Wally Pfister was genius. His camera angles was so picture perfect. For his fantastic work he was even nominated for the academy awards.

I assure you that ten years from now on Christian Bale will be our only Batman and Christopher Nolan would be remembered as the only director known for showing Batman in a fantastic way even though how many Batman movies we come cross. Its my personal view.

One unknown fact about the movie is Cillian Murphy who played Dr crane once came to attend the audition to play Batman but Christopher Nolan had other plans for him.

FAVOURITE CULT MOVIES IN ENGLISH..!!

இன்னிக்கி இங்கிலீஷ்ல இருக்குற எனக்கு புடிச்ச 10 Cult Films In English படங்கள பத்தி பார்க்கலாம்... சினிமாவுடைய வெறித்தனமான ரசிகர்களுக்கு இந்த வார்த்தை முன்னாடியே பரிச்சியம் ஆனதா தான் இருக்கும்.. இல்லாதவங்களுக்கு எனக்கு தெரிஞ்சத வெச்சி புரியவைக்க முயற்சி பண்றேன்.. இப்பவே சொல்லிடுறேன் இது என்னோட ரசனைக்கு புடிச்ச படங்கள்.. கண்டிப்பா இத விட இன்னும் சிறந்த படங்கள்லாம் இருக்கும்.. அது ஏன் என் லிஸ்ட்ல இல்லனா.. ஒன்னு அந்த படத்த நான் பார்த்து இருக்க மாட்டேன்.. இல்ல அந்த படம் எனக்கு புடிச்சி இருக்காது.
'Cult' - இந்த வார்த்தைக்கான பொதுவான அர்த்தம் என்னன்னா ஒரு விஷயத்த பயங்கரமா ( வெறியா ) வழிபடுறது..
சரி இப்ப Cult Movies-ன என்னன்னு பாப்போம்.. ஒரு படத்த அது ரிலீஸ் ஆகி பல வருஷங்கள் கழிச்சியும்.. அந்த படத்துல வர காட்சியை ,வசனத்தை ,இசையை ரசிகர்கள் கொண்டாடி ரசிச்சிட்டே இருந்தாங்கனா ,அந்த படத்த Cult Movieன்னு சொல்லுவாங்க.. அந்த படங்கள் வெளியான நேரத்துல ,அந்த படங்கள் பொருளாதரத்தில் பெரிய புரட்சி உண்டு பண்ணாமல் இருந்து இருக்கலாம்.. ஆனா மக்கள் மனதுல பயங்கரமான புரட்சி உண்டு பண்ணி இருக்கும்.. அப்போ ஏன் படம் ஹிட் ஆகலன்னு யோசிக்கிரிங்களா..?? இதற்கான பதில தான் நானும் தேடிட்டு இருக்கேன்.. 'மான் கராத்தே' மாதிரி படம் ஹிட் ஆகும் போது ஏன் 'ஆயிரத்தில் ஒருவன்' மாதிரி படம் ஹிட் ஆகுல..? இது என்ன மாத்திரம் உறுத்துற கேள்வி இல்ல.. எல்லா சினிமா வெறியர்களுக்குமே இருக்குற ஒரு ஆதங்கம்.. ஆனா அதுக்கு நிறைய காரணங்கள் சொல்லுவாங்க.. படம் மக்களுக்கு புரியல ,பெண்கள் பார்க்க முடியாது , குடும்பங்களுக்கான படம் கிடையாது ,சரியான நேரத்துல ரிலீஸ் ஆகல.. இதுமாதிரி என்னனவோ காரணங்கள் சொல்லுவாங்க.. எனக்கு எதுமே சரியாய் படல.. அதுக்கான விடையை தேடிட்டே தான் இருக்கேன்.. என்னிக்குமே தேடிட்டே தான் இருப்பேன்.. ஏன்னா அந்த விடையை பெரிய பெரிய டைரக்டர்ஸ் ,தயாரிப்பாளர்கள்னாலயே கண்டுபுடிக்க முடில.. நாம எங்க..? அட Cult பத்தி பேச ஆரம்பிச்சு ,topic எங்கங்கயோ போகுது.. சரி மறுபடியும் Cultக்கு வருவோம்.. இந்த படங்கள் ரிலீஸானா சமயத்துல ,இந்த படங்கள் பெரிய சர்ச்சையை உண்டு பண்ணி இருக்கும்.. காரணங்கள் நிறைய இருக்கலாம்.. வன்முறை ,மதம் ,பாலியல் பிரச்சனை ,gore ,nudity இதுல எது வேணும்னாலும் இருக்கலாம்.. இந்த மாதிரி சர்ச்சையான படங்களும் Cult வகையில சேரும்.. சரி இந்த மாதிரி Cult படங்களில் எனக்கு புடிச்ச 10 படங்கள் பத்தி பார்க்கலாம்... இந்த படங்களில் எல்லாமே எனக்கு ரொம்ப புடிச்சது.. என்னால இந்த படங்கள Top 10-ah வரிசை படுத்த முடியல.. அதுனால IMDB rating மூலமா வரிசைப்படுத்திறேன் ...

படத்தோட கதை என்னன்னா, எல்லா பேய்கதை மாதிரி தான்.. 5 பேர் ஒரு விடுமுறைக்கு ஒரு வீட்டுக்கு போறாங்க.. அங்க அமானுஷயமான விஷயங்கள் சிலது நடக்குது.. அப்ப ஒரு நாள் , அவங்க ஒரு புஸ்தகத்த கண்டுபிடிக்கிறாங்க.. அதுல இருக்குறத படிக்கும் போது, அங்க இருக்குற பேய் எல்லாமே பூமியிலிர்ந்து வெளியவருது.. அதுக்கு அப்புறம் அந்த பேய்கள் கிட்ட இருந்து அவங்க தப்பிச்சாங்கலா இல்லையான்றது தான் கதை..
இந்த படத்தோட முதல் பார்ட் பயங்கரமான ஹிட்.. ஆனா ரெண்டாவது ,மூணாவது பார்ட் பொருளாதாரத்துல பெரிய ஹிட் இல்லனாலும்.. அது ரெண்டுமே 'Cult Movies' வகையில சேர்ந்திடிச்சி..இந்த படம் வந்த நேரத்துல.. horror படத்துல இந்த படம் ஒரு புரட்சின்னு எல்லாரும் பேசிக்கிடாங்கலாம்.. நம்ம சென்னைல கூட இந்த படம் நல்ல ஓடிச்சின்னு எங்க அப்பா சொல்லி கேள்வி பட்டு இருக்கேன்..

இந்த படம் Fantasy ,Genre வகையை சார்ந்தது.. படம் 2001-ல ரிலீஸ் ஆச்சு...இந்த படம் Time Travel-ஐ அடிப்படையா கொண்டது.. நம்ம ஹீரோ பேரு Donnie Darko ,அவன் கண்ணுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய மனுஷன் மாதிரி இருக்குற முயல் தெரியும்.. அது பேரு Frank..அது அவன் கிட்ட உலகம் இன்னும் 28 நாள்ல அழிய போகுதுன்னு சொல்லுது.. அன்னிக்கி Donnie வெளிய போய்ட்டு வரும் போது ,அவன் ரூம்ல ஜெட் என்ஜின் விழுந்து இருக்குது.. அதுல இருந்து அவன் Frank சொல்றத எல்லாத்தையும் கேட்டு அப்படியே நடக்குறான்.. Frank சொன்ன 28 நாள்க்கு அப்புறம் என்ன ஆச்சு.? உலகம் அழிஞ்சிதா.? இத டைம் travel , vortex இது மாதிரி விஷயங்கள் வெச்சி சொல்லி இருப்பாங்க.. அருமையான படம்.. பாக்க தவற விடாதீங்க..

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU FISH FOR! - SHERLOCK HOLMES : A GAME OF SHADOWS

What kind of expression does one give when he or she meets a person who is an exact reflection of oneself. Someone who doesn't know you before but does the same thing what you do in his own ideology. His thinking and yours would be exactly same but the outcome will be the contradicted. What happens when a student messes up with his own teacher who thought him many things, who will win?. We all know the result is inevitable that the professor will surely bypass the student. But what if the student outperforms teacher. Do you come to the conclusion that neither the teacher is not brilliant enough or the student is intellectual enough. Just think! What conclusion does one come to, towards the end? Totally confusing isn't it?

Frankly,There are generally two kinds of people live in this world. One who lives with the angels and the other with the demon. Both these categories of people are quite brilliant in their way. One uses their senses to ensure peace and prosperity and the other uses it simply to cause chaos and destruction to the whole world so that they could obviously start a war. They always want two people fighting towards each other so that they could have peace in their life. An other surprising thing about the people who live with the angels is that they don't always strive for peace. Sometimes being in peace always doesn't ensure harmony, blood ought to be shed so that violence can be avoided in the sustaining future. These kinds of people deal directly with demons and totally evade them. So these kinds of people just because they live with the angels don't even think for a second they are one of them. Destroying others wont be their spree but surely shutting up the shattering demons is their priority job. Demons should very careful what they fish for because all the good people won't always be a trout fish. The fisherman grows weary of trying to catch an elusive fish, so he muddies the water and confuses the wish. It doesn't realize until its too late that it has swum in to the trap. Good people suddenly turn in the antonym way and surely it will surprise the fisherman too and sometimes it may swallow him too.

Today we are going to see about the movie 'SHERLOCK HOLMES- A GAME OF SHADOWS'. So what does the Game of Shadows certainly mean?. It is similar to the game of chess like how in chess external fighting is of no use its all about our internal expressions. How we use our brains to bring down the witty criminal to ground. After all being brainy is loved more than being admirable in this enigmatic world now-a-days. As our world get updated itself every sooner or later.

This movie is a prequel to SHERLOCK HOLMES(2009) ( TO READ ITS REVIEW CLICK IT ) After the confirmed death of Lord Blackwood an animal who is volatile without any one's notice here comes another person who is the exact reflection of Sherlock Holmes( Robert Downey, Jr.) but his experience is towards hundred times greater than the consulting detective. Sherlock is actually an elusive fish for this Criminal master mind Professor James Moriarty( played by Jared Harris). Like Sherlock Holmes he is also a master in science of deduction and also a Cambridge boxing champion. He has a vast knowledge something more than Sherlock Holmes.

The plot is this(the crew remains the same as that of prequel), Irene Adler delivers a package to Herr Dr Hoffmanstahl payment for a letter he was to deliver. He opens the package triggering a hidden bomb which is about to explode but intervened and stopped by Sherlock Holmes. Later Irene and Hoffmanstahl escape.Sherlock takes the letter and finds Hoffmanstahl assassinated moments later. Irene meets James Moriarty to explain the situation but Moriarty poisons her and kills her just because she loves Sherlock Holmes. Holmes then meets James Moriarty. Moriarty threatens to kill Watson and his just married wife if he continues to interfere in his business. But Holmes promised that he would stop him from committing several crimes. Mean time in Watson's bachelor party he meets fortune teller Simza(Noomi Rapase), the official recipient of the letter he took from Irene sent by her brother Rene.After that the wedding happens and after the turn of surprising events Holmes reveals the fact to Simza that she is about to be killed because Rene is working for Moriarty and he suspects that Rene might have told about his plans to his sister. Simza then discloses the fact that some anarchists group are ready to plant bombs for Moriarty. Sherlock gets caught to Moriarty and whether Sherlock escaped and stopped Moriarty like the vow made by him or was he the elusive fish forms the rest of the plot.

One must arguably understand the fact that this movie was very entertaining than its prequel. The twist at the end is something each and every Sherlock Holmes fan should really keep an eye on. But while watching this movie sometimes you have to skip some logic and watch it because entertainment sometimes doesn't prefer logic. Screen play was drastically at its best. One must accept that this movie is very grandeur than the first part but certainly not bigger to its prequel.

Performance wise Robert Downey, Jr. was simply the best. The treatment given to this character by him in this movie was much matured and improved than the previous ones. Jude Law was simple and catchy. Rachel came in a blink role but was notable. The tenure were Mycroft (Stephen Fry) elder brother of Sherlock Holmes comes is really funny and appreciative. The person who caught everyone's attention was James Moriarty(Jared Harris) he resembled very close to the novels and he acted so wisely and his timing was intelligent. His eyes did the talking more than his words. He was better than Lord BlackWood.

Cinematography and editing was again at its modest best(same crew retained). Guy Ritchie's direction was again inspirational. This guy is always known for his making skills and he proved it yet again. The story is written by Michele Mulroney and kieran Mulroney and they have adapted most of their lines from Sir Author Conan Doyle's "THE FINAL PROBLEM" ( TO READ THE BOOK CLICK IT ) and they have done a pretty well job too.

This movie have attracted the critics not to a great extend but largely to a considerable amount.

MY RATING - 3.5/5.

P.S- This movie may not be equal to its prequel's reputation but I assure you it will be more entertaining and enjoyable than the first part. This movie is known for its twist and surely in this case it will be quite surprising. Watch it keenly and enjoy this commercial pot boiler with your family.

CONSULTING DETECTIVE! - SHERLOCK HOLMES

We all have one person in our society who is so intellectual but finds it difficult to accommodate with our society as he feels bored to meet our regular day to day requirements like going to job, having a perfect partner and living life perfectly. He generally wants some sort of controversial thrill mixed with generosity in his life. He aims for the impossible which no one gets in their life. He wants each and every day to be unforgettable. Our society names these people as PSYCHOPATHS. Actually the truth is these people could be titled as highly active functioning sociopaths(cliched!). One has to understand the fact every living human being in this world honestly expects some sort of hyperactive situations in their life. Situations which keeps them thinking each and every second and wants the adrenaline pumped up highly than ever. But we tend to avoid these things because of the demands we have in this highly competitive world as our whole life sums to these words SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. But what happens when we get to know a person who doesn't care about his duties at all someone who plays the game for the game's own sake. We would be really astonished because he is doing something which we can't do in any part of life and that's the reason why we call such a person as a psychopath.

Generally, these kind of people doesn't have any friends around them just because their heart keeps changing day by day. So a normal person tends to avoid these kinds of annoying characters. But the unacceptable fact is these kinds of people have the most truthful friends in the world than the normal person who lives day to day life just for the sake of living. Because these kinds of people are loved by all but accepted by none. You need an extra sense to accept such a character in your life. Count on me such extra senses will be present one in a billion. An honest confession!

Today am gonna describe about a person who is actually an hidden scientist, playful and always damn correct in his expressions, one who has mastered the science of deduction, the one who plays games with his own mind and precisely wins the game each and every time and most of all the consulting detective (invented by him). Yes he is SHERLOCK HOLMES.

He is an imaginative character found by Sir Author Conan Doyle but what if suppose he lives in this world. Mark my words he will be considered as the most avoidable person in this world, who knows he might have won an oscar too if there existed such a category. But if he existed I would have turned in to a homo sexual and married him honestly I am saying this from my heart. Just love each and every action of him. Needless to say more than the author who created Sherlock, the latter is loved by many.

So each and everyone wants to see him. What is the way? Its simple. Just created a movie about Sherlock Holmes. An imaginative biography. No one have seen god but surely we would have seen the actors disguising as gods and we consider them as demi-gods sometimes. Similarly we can consider Sherlock Holmes too in the same way.

Today we gonna see about the movie "SHERLOCK HOLMES" released in 2009. The role of Sherlock Holmes is disguised by Robert Downey, Jr. One must accept the fact he has really done justice to the role perfectly. The role of doctor John Watson is done by Jude Law. Irene Adler, Sherlock Holme's lady love is done by Rachel McAdams and the antagonist Lord BlackWood role is done by Mark Strong. The movie is directed by Guy Ritchie. Screenplay by Simon Kinberg and Antony Peckham, cinematography by philippe Rousselot and music by Hans Zimmer

The movie starts off with Sherlock Holmes and his best friend John Watson hurrying to stop the ritual death of a woman performed by Lord BlackWood in a similar way how he killed five other woman. Sherlock Holmes and his partner in crime finds the hide out where this ritual is done and stops before the woman is being executed to death before the police arrives to the place. So finally police arrests Lord BlackWood with the help of Sherlock Holmes and Lord BlackWood as a result is sentenced to death by the law of the British following the execution of five women in the name of rituals. So the case is closed with the help of the consulting detective. Days passed by Sherlock Holmes spends each and every day feeling bored because he is yet to find a case after that. Because of the boredom he even experiments on John Watson's dog as he often does. On the mean time John Watson looks forward to marrying Mary Morstan( Kelly Reilly) and leaving 221B Baker's street (the official address of Sherlock Holmes). BlackWood just days before his punishment informs the cops that he wants to meet Sherlock Holmes and he meets him. He threatens that three more deaths will occur which will cause a drastic change and all the efforts to stop it will go in vain. So BlackWood is hanged to death and pronounced death by Watson. Irene Adler his former love meets him his residence one day and asks him to find Luke Reordan. After she leaves Sherlock secretly follows her and finds that she has been intimidated by someone. Suddenly one day the BlackWood's tomb is destroyed and people started to believe the fact that he has been arisen from death and the whole public goes panic. Sherlock investigates and finds that some sort of planning is going on to link up mystery with magic. Like the word given by BlackWood three important persons in the British Government dies causing havoc and how Sherlock Holmes finds and solves the strange mystery behind these death and how BlackWood cheated his death forms the rest of the plot.

Performance wise one must say Robert Downey, Jr. has done his proactive best. He is awesome and charismatic as Sherlock Holmes. His dialogue delivery is atmost perfect. He is playful, fun-filled,annoying and honestly adorable. some part of scenes especially the stunt sequence at the bar, acting will be at its peak and you will be spell bound leaving the expression 'whoa!'.

Jude Law was so entertaining with the way he holds his bond with Holmes. The explosion scene at BlackWood's hideout will make you know how much he cares for his brother by bond and not by blood. certainly they are!.

Mark Strong as Lord Henry BlackWood will be at his classical best and will be scary at many places especially the court scene in the climax. Rachel McAdams has adapted to her role perfectly as Irene Adler.

Cinematography and Editing was at its very best. This takes this action mystery film to great extends. One thing who needs a special mention is Hans Zimmer. This guy needs a real appreciation. This was his certain best after the batman triology. His background score till the very end is really fantastic.

Robert Downey, Jr. won the Golden Globe awards for best actor on comedy. This movie has been also nominated for academy awards in two categories BEST ORIGINAL SCORE and ART DIRECTION which later lost to Up and Avatar. This sums up the fact what kind of a special movie is this. Not a movie to be certainly missed at any cost..The films sequel Sherlock Holmes : A Game Of Shadows ( TO SEE ITS REVIEW CLICK ON IT ) was released on 2011..

MY RATING - 4.5/5.

P.S- Please watch the movie with subtitles because there will be lot of technical terms used and also to follow the flow of the movie without any disturbance. Also watch the movie for Robert Downey, Jr's astonishing performance. On the whole a perfect entertaining movie I suggest you to watch on a perfect evening weekend.

கதை ஆரம்பிக்கிற காலம் 1981 , நம்ம ஹீரோ forrest gump ஒரு பஸ் ஸ்டாப்ல பஸ்க்காக காத்திட்டு இருக்கும் போது.. பக்கத்துல உக்காந்திட்டு இருக்குறவங்க கிட்ட அவர பத்தி சொல்ல ஆரம்பிக்கிறாரு.. நம்ம Forrest ஒரு மனவளர்ச்சி குன்றியவர்.. சின்ன வயசுல நம்ம Forrest முடம் வேற.. அவருனால எந்த பொருள் துணையின்றி நடக்க முடியாது.. அதுனால கால்ல braces கட்டி தான் நடக்கணும்.. அவருக்கு ஜென்னினு ( ஜெஸ்ஸி இல்ல..) ஒரு நண்பி.. ( அதாங்க பொண்ணு friend ).. அவரு முடம்னால சின்ன வயசுல , பக்கத்துல இருக்குற பெரிய பசங்க அவர அடிக்கடி கிண்டல் பண்ணி துரத்துவாங்க.. ஒரு நாள் அப்படி துரத்தும் போது நம்ம ஜென்னி " run forrest run" கத்துறாங்க.. அப்ப ஓட ஆரம்பிப்பாருங்க நம்ம ஹீரோ.. bracesலாம் ஒடஞ்சி விழும்... சும்மா மின்னல் வேகத்துல ஓடுவாரு.. இந்த ஓடுற திறமைனால அவருக்கு scholarship கிடைச்சி காலேஜ் முடிச்சிடுறாரு.. Forrest போய் ஜென்னிய சந்திச்சாரா இல்லையா..? அதுக்கு அப்புறம் அவங்க சந்தோஷமா வாழ்ந்தாங்களா இல்லையா ..?? அத நீங்க படத்த பார்த்து தெரிஞ்சிக்கோங்க..

O! CAPTAIN...! MY CAPTAIN.....!! - CAPTAIN PHILIPS

Life on the whole when summed up belongs to one single phrase "SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST". Being honest or being faithful to our duties may not make us popular but surely it'll transform us into a hero one day and take us to a position which we wont have imagined at all. Many people when the are on the urge of facing death milliseconds away always tries to save themselves. But there are only some people approximately ten in the whole earth thinks about saving others life and I would consider them as the living god since I don't believe in statues as I am an atheist in my mind.

Having the title as O! Captain...! My captain....!! and I am talking about philosophy. You may have a doubt!.But at the end of this blog you will understand why I am mingling these two things. Captain is someone who always leads from the front or has to lead from the front. We would have seen on many occasions possibly in a rugby or football match captain anchoring his team mates and making them to believe in themselves. Even in army troops too Captain charges down and cares so much for his soldier's family even though he has a wife and children sitting in home and carrying for him.

So today am going to share my views of yet again about an oscar nominated movie "CAPTAIN PHILIPS" directed by Paul Greengrass, written by Billy Ray. This movie too is based on a true story and has been inspired from the book A CAPTAIN'S DUTY by Richard Phillips, Stephan Talty. We have digest the fact that this time academy award's preferred to realistic cinema more than commercial pot boilers as always they do.

The movie starts off with Richard Philips( played by Tom Hanks)as the captain of the ship taking the command of an unarmed ship from the port of salalah in oman round the belly of Africa where the Somalia pirates are like the eagle surveying the whole sea preying for the fishes in the ocean. They are always in guard waiting to hijack the ship and become rich in the midst of the tightened security African coast. Even a small boat sailing in the Gulf of Aden will reach in to the ears of the pirates. So you wont be suprised when an unarmed ship sails in the Gulf without the information passing to the pirates. So these pirates plan to hijack the ship and demand for an settlement. They plan tentatively well by splitting into two teams with guns to each one of them sailing through two boats with seven men in each boats. The captain finds their plan and with great presence of mind informs the coast guards but it was too late as these pirates were only miles away from the ship. The captain intellectually pretends that the ship has armed security so the pirates get intimidated and sets off the plan on that day and the next day the plan to risk their lives and hijack the ship and at the end they even succeed in it and takes the Captain and the other sailors as hostages demanding for millions of money. So whether the pirates succeeded in getting the demanded money or the Captain and the other crew members are saved or they are killed violently forms the rest of the plot.

Performance wise Tom Hanks was indeed the best. There are some scenes you will actually dwell into the feel that he is the captain of the ship. His stylish way of speech and the manner in which he holds on talks to the rude pirates is really applaudable. His green coloured pupil lenses will make any young girl to fall in love with them sometimes even boys too. The reason why I am describing him in such a way because he fits the bill perfectly. As a captain he doesn't boast too much or lose his nerve in the alarmed situation but remains as a cucumber till the end. Even his feared speech too will have calmness.

Oh yes! there is an another guy I need to mention Barkhad Abdi as Abduwali Muse(the pirate leader) was at his pioneer best. This young lad what a tremendous performance he delievered! still am soaking in astonishment the way he played his role so perfectly! probably the best in his whole acting courier. His anger soaking eyes and daring expressions of emotions at tough situations caught my eyes from the first scene he was introduced. At the end of the movie even you guys will consider yourself as a jury and award him an oscar but its hard enough to digest the fact that he didn't win an oscar for his lively performance...

The screenplay has been laid perfectly by the director for this suspense emotional flick. Background score too suits the situation perfectly. Editing and cinematography is the major plus point of this film as it takes this movie to the next dimension. The film is made at a budget of $55 million which earned over $214 crores at the box office.

I am always ready to talk about this movie the whole day but this blog will surely be enough to provoke you to watch this movie.

P.S: Please don't forget to look into the eyes of Tom Hanks after the climax is over because you will know to what depth he has traveled to perform this role so prominently and convincingly.

DARE TO LIVE - DALLAS BUYERS CLUB

As my title suggests, life is all about what kind of an extend we go to accomplish peace in our life. But, for some people (actually many) life doesn't go well as what we expected it to be. Bad news lingers in our ears which sometimes proves to lethal, DEATH is what I am referring it to as lethal. Death follows us suddenly or sometimes takes its own time to reach us. Its about how we live our life before the death reaches us, sometimes satan shows us the path by which our end reaches us and mostly it'll be in form of a disease. Diseases like AIDS seems to be more lethal than the actual death because it destroys us only once but these diseases kills us inch by inch, day by day. As it not only affects us but even our surroundings. we get isolated from our society, humiliated by it day by day and the pressure point reaches us fortunately to our death instead of living in this world.
The reason why I gave a short speech about life and AIDS is because today we are going to see about a movie were these things are interlinked to each other. A movie which won many oscars in various categories just because of mixing up fiction with the harsh reality of life and for revealing many unspoken stories which our common man including me have never seen or heard about this before.
Yes, today we gonna talk about "DALLAS BUYERS CLUB". This world has produced many selfish bastards in the name of homo sapiens and this movie is also about a life of one such selfish bastard. How one enigmatic yet globaly fatal disease changes his whole life and makes him to be even stronger and even affectionate and emotional to people forms the rest of the plot.

Matthew McConaughey disguises himself as the real-life AIDS patient Ron Woodroof. He lives in texas as we knew texas people are always stylish with an awesome cowboy hat in his head. Fortunately he wears it all through the movie which makes him even more stylish. His life is all about working at day, smoking, drinking and having sex with women who have sacrificed their lives just for money and making these sorts of men happy by giving them external pleasure. Ron Woodroof is one such kind of a guy. Suddenly as days pass by his health takes a toll on him, he becomes lean,coughs too much and more of all he even finds difficult to have sex with women(lack of stamina). So his friend advices him to consult a doctor. So he visits a doctor.After running a series of test the doctor tells him that he has been diagnoised with AIDS and his life span will be only 30 days. He shares it with this friends and then his problem starts. As a result of his lethal infection he is isolated completely from his fellow friends thrown out of his job and almost lives a life so lonely and it makes him more aggressive. His health gets severe day by day so he gets admitted in a hospital. There he finds Rayon(Jared Leto, won an oscar award for best supporting role). He plays a role of a transgender. Initially Ron is anti-gay so he keeps a distance away from her. Ron's consulting doctor Dr. Eve Saks(played by Jenifer Garner) tells him that they are using drugs approved only by the FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION(FDA) which is used to prolong the life of humans. so he meets Dr vass(Griffin Dunne) he recommends him some other drugs which is against the laws of US. After he starts consuming it his health becomes better and he even starts selling these drugs to other HIV patiens throuhg Dr Eve Saks and Rayon. The police finds this act to be illegal as selling drugs which is not recommended by US is against law.
So whether Ron Woodroof survives and overcomes HIV and how did he manages the cops and the legislative system of US forms the rest of the plot.

Performance wise Matthew McConaughey will be at his best. For people who were feeling so bad that Leonardo Di Caprio didn't win an oscar. I recommend you to please watch this movie as I guarantee you that your opinions will surely change.

More than Matthew's performance I personally loved Jared's performance because of how he has potrayed the role of a transgender very well. In my personal opinion Jared stole the entire show with his actings and mannerisms.There will be a scene were Rayon and Ron hug each other emotionally and I am quite sure tears will be gathered at the corner of your eyes.

This biographical emotional drama film written by Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack and directed by Jean-Marc Vallee has an awesome screenplay best suited to this type of emotional drama. Even the dialogue delivery and slang of Texas has been taken care of perfectly and neatly.
Well wait I have got another suprise for you. Matthew McConaughey will be also part of christopher Nolan's magnum opus INTERSELLAR. That sums the whole story isn't it???
Surely this movie will be your money's worth or most probably the movie which you would like to keep always in your laptop as your personal favourite of all time.
As I conclude here DALLAS BUYERS CLUB is a must watch for all cinematic lovers and people who watch movies which are critically acclaimed. I promise you that this movie wont bore you even a minute or even a second.

P.S: People who are so aggressive and doesn't care about others feelings and those who are living alone seperated from their loved ones I strongly advice you to watch this movie. As the movie ends you will surely understand the true meaning and the purpose of why we live in this world...
